Tips for Black and White Portrait Photography A POST BY :-SAHIL SWAMI Camera Settings: My camera settings are simple. Using a fast lens, I try to shoot as close to wide open as possible - usually an aperture of somewhere between f/1.4 and f/2.2, maybe f/3.2 if the situation calls for it. Shutter speed is set to the situation and ISO is usually locked in on 400 or so (I can hear all the technical shooters grumbling and cussing at me right now). How to Take Macro Pictures? Photo Tip : Macro photography is photography magnified. It is generally recognized as “macro” when you are increasing the size of an object in your picture from about half life-size, as represented on the image sensor, to five times life-size. What is Macro Photography? First, an explanatory note for all those with a modicum of photo history and tech basics: the term macro used to refer to the capture of an insect or whatever, that resulted in an image on the 35mm film frame (24x36mm) that ranged from 1:10 to 1:1 the size of the original subject. For its part, the term micro referred to a film image that was larger than 1:1 life size; micro photography could easily give you a 35mm film image of an ant that was itself larger than the original ant. Tips for macro photography 1. Choose the Best Lens. -A 50-60mm lens is suitable for general macro work but if you want greater subject-to-lens distance a 100mm lens will give you this at a price.

Lifestyle Photography tips for creating fantastic lifestyle photography shots Turn them until you find the light on their face. I LOVE backlight but sometimes you just have to keep turning your subject until their face is illuminated nicely. If you want to de-clutter, open curtains, etc. do it before the pictures begin. kids can sense when pictures are about to happen. If you are doing all of that in front of them, they may close themselves off & be less open to the camera being out. . Have your camera out & handy as much as possible. You never know when something great will happen so be ready so you can snap before the moment is gone. . Think of activities your subject enjoys (that would keep them in the same spot for several minutes) then just wait for the sweet expressions to unfold! 1. Anticipate what’s going to happen Don’t wait to take the shot until you see something happening because some things last only one second and you can miss it.
